Only 375 of 6,000 vacancies filled in central universities: Centre

Only 375 faculty positions in central universities have ben filled out of some 6,000 vacancies, according to data submitted by the education ministry in Parliament on Monday, despite a directive in September last year to rectify the situation speedily

Only 23 people have been convicted in 5,422 cases registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) since the law was implemented 17 years ago, according to data shared by the Union government in Parliament

A year after receiving world heritage status, temple in T’gana still faces neglect: Activists

It was on July 25, 2021 that UNESCO declared Ramappa temple as the world heritage site at its World Heritage Committee meeting held in China. It was the only structure from India that was considered for the world heritage site status at that meeting.



A year after being declared as the UNESCO world heritage site, historic Rudreshwara temple, popularly known as Ramappa temple, at Palampet village of Telangana’s Mulugu district, still lies in a state of neglect with the state government doing little to develop the village and its surroundings leading to the temple complex, activists said on Monday.
